BOUQUET CUSTOMIZATION TOOL
A new way
to create a bouquet

Eddie, are you Bokay?
Our client, an online floral business, aimed to give their customers the freedom and creative expression to create custom bouquets online.
Timeline
From explorations to final designs in 6 weeks.
Background
Family Flowers is an online floral business based in Atlanta, Georgia. We partnered with them to design a standalone online application that enables users to create custom floral arrangements and build the perfect bouquet their way.
Bokay empowers users with full creative control over how to send that special someone someone something they'll love.
Process
In order to design the best solution for our client's needs, we engaged in market research and user testing in order to inform our designs. We continuously iterated the design until landing on the final version.
Research & Planning
Conducted market research to identify existing bouquet customization platforms and pain points they pose. Studied popular online customization tools for other markets (ie shoes, cars, etc). Conducted interviews and surveys with online and in-person flower shoppers to gain insights and identify needs.
Design & Prototyping
Collaborated with our team to create intuitive user interfaces and interactive prototypes. Iteratively refined designs based on user feedback to enhance usability and visual appeal.
Testing & Optimization
We conducted testing across various devices and platforms and gathered user feedback through beta testing to iterate and build on our initial designs.
Solution
The resulting website and bouquet customization tool offers an intuitive and delightful user experience, allowing customers to design their own flower arrangements for that extra personal touch.
New Website
A new, more modern website gives the user an intuitive experience and directs them to the information and tools they need quickly and easily.
Bouquet Customization
Customize your Bokay from start to finish. Add focal flowers, accent flowers, greenery, and a vase in an intuitive and easy flow.
Branding
Family Flowers' new brand, Bokay stands out with vibrant colors and a youthful feel, appealing to many walks of life for a fun and easy floral experience.
Results & Lessons Learned
We handed off the final designs to Family Flowers and their developers in mid-2020. We learned a lot as a team and enjoyed the project greatly.
Lessons Learned
Set constraints to keep the ideation process manageable.
Test even the smallest of changes as they can have a huge impact on usability
Disconnect your familiarity with your design, keeping in mind the UX motto, “you are not the user.”
